Incredible ‘Sequences’ Time-Lapse Video Took 10-Years and 3.5-Million Photos to Complete

Photographer Jack Fisher shot countless time-lapse videos with his Canon 5D Mark IV camera, so it only made sense to turn the 3.5-million photos into an incredible ‘Sequences’ short film. The production company he works for makes after-movies for the Ultra Music Festival, so he travels extensively.

Just how much has Fisher traveled in just the last couple of years? Around 24,250 minutes of air travel with just one airline alone. He has shot festivals like Lollapalooza in Chicago, the Djakarta warehouse project in Indonesia, and EDC in Las Vegas. One thing he’s working on now is using AI software to do a lot of the more time-intensive post-production associated with time-lapse photography.

I called it Sequences because I try to create stories, or scenes in my timelapse photography. I love trying to seamlessly link multiple shots together and display a city or event in a unique and entertaining manner over a series of different shots,” said Fisher.

NASA Releases Video Showing Two Views of Ingenuity’s 59th Flight on Mars

NASA has just released a video showing Ingenuity’s 59th flight on Mars, but from two different views. The helicopter achieved its second highest altitude of 66 feet while taking pictures of this 142-second flight that took place on September 16, 2023.

What you’re seeing in this side-by-side video is one perspective from Perseverance on the left, which was captured by the rover’s Mastcam-Z imager from about 180 feet (55 meters) away, while the right side has Ingenuity’s images taken by its Navigation Camera (Navcam). Flight 59 saw Ingenuity hovering at different altitudes to check Martian wind patterns.

From the team behind Stable Diffusion XL, comes Stable Video Diffusion, which essentially uses two generative AI-based models to create multi-video views from images. These video models can be quickly adapted to various downstream tasks, such as multi-view synthesis from a single image with fine-tuning on multi-view datasets.

Stable Video Diffusion is basically a latent video diffusion model for high-resolution, cutting edge text-to-video and image-to-video generation. Unlike other latent diffusion models trained for 2D image synthesis that have been turned into generative video models by inserting temporal layers, this one is capable of generating video 14-25 frames long at speeds between 3-30 frames per second at 576 × 1024 resolution. NASA Astronauts Accidentally Drop Tool Bag During Space Walk, Captured on Video

NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara accidentally dropped a toolbox during their first ISS spacewalk this month. They were working on the station’s solar arrays, which track the sun, but they ran out of time to remove and safely stow a communications electronics box, called the Radio Frequency Group.

There wasn’t enough time during the spacewalk to complete the work, so the two astronauts lifted some multilayer insulation to make a better assessment of how to approach the job on a future spacewalk. This was when one tool bag was inadvertently lost.
