Strange SOONOOZ Mini PC Can be Worn Like Shoulder Bag, Has Removable Speaker

SOONOOZ Mini PC
Unlike the Netpliance i-Opener from 1999, the strange SOONOOZ Mini PC can be used for a lot more than surfing the internet. Not only can it be worn like a stylish shoulder bag, but the Mini has a removable speaker that can be used independently from the computer and can be paired to a smartphone, tablet, etc.

As for the internals, it can be configured with either an Intel N100, AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, or an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, DDR5 RAM, and an M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD. Connectivity wise, there’s USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.0 Type-A, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a built-in battery for use when traveling. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but a previous model configured with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, 8GB of DDR4 memory, and a 512GB SSD, retails for $599 USD.

NASA’s Juno Mission Captures Strange Frowning Face on Jupiter During 54th Close Flyby

NASA Juno Mission Frowning Face Jupiter
NASA’s Juno mission captured a strange frowning face on Jupiter during its 54th close flyby on September 7th. This oddity was spotted in the gas giant’s far northern regions, called Jet N7, where turbulent clouds and storms along Jupiter’s terminator reside.

NASA Juno Mission Frowning Face Jupiter
Jupiter’s terminator is basically the dividing line between the day and night sides of the planet. Scientists study the low angle of sunlight highlights the complex topography of features in this region to better understand the processes occurring in Jupiter’s atmosphere.

Fascinating Look Back at the HP OmniBook 800CT, a Laptop from 1997 with a Strange Mouse

Fascinating Look Back at the HP OmniBook 800CT, a Laptop from 1997 with a Strange Mouse

HP OmniBook 800CT Laptop 1997
Back in 1997, the HP OmniBook 800CT laptop would have set you back a hefty $4,750 USD ($9,109 today), and you can still pick one up for around half that on eBay. What really set it apart from the competition was its strange mouse that could be ejected from the right side at the push of a button.

Other features included an Intel Pentium MMX 166 MHz processor, 16MB of EDO RAM, a 4GB HDD, NeoMagic MagicGraph 128ZV graphics card with 2MB of video memory, and up to 3-hours of continuous use when fully charged. This followup to the Omnibook 600 had the system software loaded on an internal hard disk (under the right side of the front of the keyboard), rather than on a PCMCIA hard disk.
