Tesla Cybertruck’s Wade Mode Gets Put to the Test When Driving Through Large Puddle

Tesla Cybertruck’s Wade Mode Gets Put to the Test When Driving Through Large Puddle

Tesla Cybertruck Wade Mode Test
Most vehicles on the road should avoid large puddles when possible, but if you’re driving a Tesla Cybertruck, simply activate Wade Mode, and you’re ready to roll. Once activated in Off-Road Mode, it takes around 10-minutes for the Cybertruck to pressurize the battery as well as raising the suspension up to the highest setting.

TechRax tested this mode out so you won’t have to, as any damaged sustained while driving through up to 31-inches of water is not covered by the factory warranty. Plus, Tesla says that water should not exceed the top of the bumper. Let’s just say that driving through a very deep puddle may cause some electronics, like buttons, to malfunction.

Mechas Size Comparison Shows Just How Large RX-78-02 Gundam Really Is

Mechas Size Comparison
There’s this bizarre tentacle robot, and then these mechas, which are essentially large robots piloted by humans. MetalBallStudios put together an interesting size comparison video in first person that shows just how large the RX-78-02 Gundam really is compared to the others.

Compared to lets say the Megazoard from Power Rangers, the RX-78-02 Gundam is quite small to say the least, but both are dwarfed by Ideon from the 1980 anime television series. An important note is that mecha can vary greatly in size and shape, but are distinguished from vehicles by their humanoid or biomorphic appearance. There are even different subgenres such as Super Robot and Real Robot from Japanese anime / manga.

James Webb Space Telescope Observes H II Region in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC)

James Webb Space Telescope Observes H II Region in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC)

James Webb Space Telescope H II Large Magellanic Cloud LMC
NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope recently observed the H II region in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way. This nebula, called N79, spans 1,630 light-years and is actually a region of interstellar atomic hydrogen that is ionized, as shown by Webb’s Mid-InfraRed Instrument (MIRI).

This region is typically regarded as a younger version of the Tarantula Nebula, which suggests that N79 has a star formation efficiency that exceeds its older counterpart. What we see in this image is one of the three giant molecular cloud complexes, known as N79 South (or S1), where the ‘starburst’ pattern surrounding this bright object is a series of diffraction spikes.

At the longer wavelengths of light captured by MIRI, Webb’s view of N79 showcases the region’s glowing gas and dust. This is because mid-infrared light is able to reveal what is happening deeper inside the clouds (while shorter wavelengths of light would be absorbed or scattered by dust grains in the nebula). Some still-embedded protostars also appear in this field,” said the European Space Agency.

Hubble Observes Large Spiral Galaxy IC 438 with Tightly-Curled Inner Arms in Lepus Constellation

Hubble Large Spiral Galaxy IC 348 Lepus
Located in the Lepus constellation approximately 130 million light-years from Earth, IC 438 is a large spiral galaxy that can be seen close-up in this Hubble image. If you look to the left side of the image, the galaxy’s core and its tightly-curled inner spiral arms can be observed.

Hubble Large Spiral Galaxy IC 348 Lepus
Peer to the right side of this image, and you can see the arms reaching down from above, curving across the dark background, while a bright star inside the arc of the arm, and a couple more next to the galaxy, are also visible. When looking at the big picture, Lepus is bordered on each side by the constellations Canis Major (the Greater Dog) and Orion (the Hunter).

Lepus is one of the 88 constellations that are officially recognised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). It is worth clarifying that, whilst the actual constellations themselves only comprise a handful of stars, the area of sky covered by those stars is often referred to using the name of the constellation,” said the ESA.

Rabbit R1 is a Pocket-Sized AI Assistant That Runs First OS Built on Large Action Model

Rabbit R1 Pocket AI Assistant Large Action Model
Unlike the Technophone PC105 from 1985, the Rabbit R1 is a pocket-sized AI assistant that runs the first OS ever built on Large Action Model (LAM). In other words, the device can infer as well as model human actions on computer interfaces by learning users’ intention and behavior when they use specific apps.

LAM can basically make AI systems see and act on apps in the same way humans do. It learns by demonstration and understanding complex human intentions before spinning up on human-oriented interfaces across all mobile as well as desktop environments on a customized cloud platform. You can say that LAM fundamentally removes the need for users to download and use multiple apps on their devices, as it proactively carries out the tasks automatically. Available for pre-order now, priced at $199 USD, with shipments beginning in March 2024.

Today is the beginning of a new era in human-machine interaction. We’ve come to a point where we have hundreds of apps on our smartphones with complicated UX designs that don’t talk to each other. As a result, end users are frustrated with their devices and are often getting lost. rabbit is now building towards an intuitive app-free experience with the power of AI,” said Jesse Lyu, Rabbit Founder and CEO.

Hubble Stellar Explosion Large Magellanic Cloud Galaxy
NASA / ESA’s Hubble Space Telescope captured a stellar explosion throwing debris into the nearby Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way located 163,000 light-years from Earth. This is actually the second or third-closest galaxy to the Milky Way, after the Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal.

Hubble Stellar Explosion Large Magellanic Cloud Galaxy
Astronomers classify the LMC as a Magellanic spiral, and it contains a stellar bar that is geometrically off center, which suggests that it was a barred dwarf spiral galaxy at one point before its spiral arms were disrupted. What could cause such a disruption? Tidal interactions from the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) and the Milky Way’s gravity of course.

Spacecraft Size Comparison First Person
This aircraft speed comparison gives you an idea of how fast something is, but Metal Ball Studios recently created a spacecraft size comparison to show how large they really are, including the Borg Cube from Star Trek. The latter was described to measure over 3km (1.86mi) along an edge, possess an internal volume of 28 cubic kilometers, and boast a tritanium construction.

You also get a glimpse of the Star Wars X-Wing, E.T. Ship, D77H-TCI Pelican from Halo, Martian’s Spaceship (Mars! Attacks), Moon Rocket (Tintin), USSC Discovery One (2001: A Space Odyssey), Space Battleship Yamato, Mothership (Close Encounters of the Third Kind), USCSS Covenant (Alien Covenant), Battlestar Galactica, Destiny Ascension (Mass Effect), Avatar (EVE Online), City Destroyer (Independence Day), High Charity (Halo), and more.

NASA / ESA’s Hubble Space Telescope captured this dazzling image of globular cluster NGC 2210 located in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) around 157,000 light-years from Earth. What stands out first is the dense cluster of stars, with the brightest and most crowded ones in the center, where they are mostly a cool white color.

Hubble Globular Cluster NGC 2210 Large Magellanic Cloud
As you move towards the edges of NGC 2210, the stars become more spread out and reddish until a noticeable ‘edge’ to the cluster is reached. If you look beyond the edge, there are still many stars, more disorganized and seen on a black background. The LMC is actually a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, which means they are gravitationally bound. Since globular clusters like NGC 2210 are very stable and tightly bound, they can last a long time. This means globular clusters are often studied by astronomers in order to investigate potentially very old stellar populations.

As well as being a source of interesting research, this old-but-relatively-young cluster is also extremely beautiful, with its highly concentrated population of stars. The night sky would look very different from the perspective of an inhabitant of a planet orbiting one of the stars in a globular cluster’s center: the sky would appear to be stuffed full of stars, in a stellar environment that is thousands of times more crowded than our own,” said the ESA.
