Additional connectivity on the Analogue Pocket is provided via microSD card support and USB-C connectivity. It does support wireless controllers and HDMI output is possible through a proprietary docking solution. The console itself is designed around an Altera Cyclone V field-programmable gate array, enabling it to replicate the hardware of the Game Boy line of consoles. If Studio Ghibli Made a Zelda Ocarina of Time Game, it Would Look Like the UE5-Powered Castle Town

If Studio Ghibli Made a Zelda Ocarina of Time Game, it Would Look Like the UE5-Powered Castle Town

Studio Ghibli Zelda Ocarina of Time UE5 Castle Town
Now that Nintendo confirms they are working on a live-action Zelda movie, Castle Town shows what a Studio Ghibli designed Ocarina of Time game would look like in Unreal Engine 5. Part time animator RwanLink spent over 600-hours and 4-months creating what you’re about to see here, including a third-person perspective as well as more than 30 characters.

We know that Link primarily fights with a sword and shield, but some other commonly found weapons include projectiles, bombs, and magic spells, all of which can be found in this stunning remake. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on if we’ll ever see a playable demo of Castle Town. What’s next of RwanLink? Possibly an Unreal Engine 5 remake of Ocarina of Time’s direct sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, which was originally released in 2000 on the Nintendo 64.

AI-Powered ‘Doritos Silent’ Crunch-Canceling Technology Helps You Game and Snack

AI Doritos Silent Crunch Canceling Technology
While using a helicopter for a record-setting cheese pull sounds extreme, this AI-powered ‘Doritos Silent’ crunch-canceling technology is just as crazy. A recent poll in the US showed that around 30% say that other people crunching distracts them from playing well or impacts their performance.

Doritos partnered with Smooth Technology, a leader in electronic and interactive design, to develop this innovative ‘crunch cancellation’ technology over six months. This AI-augmented software required the technical analysis of more than 5,000 different crunch sounds. Best of all, you can download it here for free.

A canceled Konami Battle Choice prototype game from 1988 for the NES just sold for $15,850 USD on Yahoo Auctions Japan. It’s reportedly a fantasy-style chess / beat ‘em up title that was based on Shogi, a Japanese strategy board game for two players.

This means Battle Choice most likely would have been the same as in the original Shogi, where two players take turns and when the pieces come into contact with each other, action-battles begin. For those interested in some of the game’s music tracks, they can be found in the album “Konami Famicom Chronicle Vol.3 ROM Cassette”, which was released back in August 2015. Unfortunately (or fortunately), we’ll probably never see a ROM dump of this game as it reportedly was purchased by a Japanese collector.

Custom CNC-Machined Wooden Game Boy is a Work of Art

Custom CNC-Machined Wooden Game Boy is a Work of Art

Custom Wooden Game Boy Mod
This custom CNC-machined wooden Game Boy by coder Sebastian Stacks is a work of art to say the least. Recreating the original’s injection-molded plastic case with wood meant milling the top and bottom shells to ensure all of the details remained intact.

The Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 router required several different bits to accomplish this, with the B04 being used for the finishing touches on the bottom shell. One thing that could not easily be recreated with the machine was the battery cover, so Stacks relied on a very simple magnet-equipped design. After all of the parts were milled, the electronic components had to be carefully pieced together. Want to build your own wooden Game Boy? Check out the Github page here.

Oh, and if you have been wondering about the wooden Pokemon cartridges: Those are based on the cartridge I published earlier with several improvements to the toolpaths (man, I learned so much from the Game Boy project) and the Pokemon logo added,” said Sebastian Stacks.
