You’ve seen the Civiche EG911, now check out the Honda Civic-based Mitsuoka M55 Concept, which resembles a Dodge Challenger of sorts. It was created for the company’s 55th anniversary and pays homage to muscle cars from the late 1960s-1970s, complete with rear window louvers.

This one-off concept is powered by a Civic-sourced turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder engine making 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels. The interior with 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen has stayed mostly the same, other than blue leather upholstered seats and a Mitsuoka-branded steering wheel. Unfortunately (or fortunately), there are no plans on making a production version, although the concept can be seen at the Mitsuoka Azabu Showroom in Tokyo between November 24 to December 16.

1,341HP Nissan Hyper Force Concept is All-Electric, Previews Future of GT-R

Nissan Hyper Force Concept Electric GT-R
The Nissan Hyper Force Concept, developed together with the NISMO racing team, previews what future GT-R models could look like. Power comes from an all-solid-state battery that can generate up to 1,341hp (1,000kW) with precise and extreme acceleration, while Nissan’s e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology ensures exceptional handling at the track as well as on winding canyon roads.

Aesthetically, the Nissan Hyper Force combines sleek curves with a geometric design that reflects the performance underneath. The front / rear lights pay homage to Nissan’s high-performance cars and its dual-level rear diffuser optimally controls airflow. You can’t miss the lightweight forged carbon wheels or the butterfly doors either. Step into the cabin, and you’ll find two driving modes, “R” (racing) and “GT” (grand touring). The colors on the user interface changes according to the mode, with graphics created by Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital.

All five concept cars showcased today are symbols of the future and embody our founding spirit of ‘daring to do what others don’t’. We have advanced our EV innovations, moving beyond mobility to create a more sustainable world. Toyota FJ Bruiser Concept Debuts at SEMA 2023, Powered by a NASCAR V8 Engine

Toyota FJ Bruiser Concept Debuts at SEMA 2023, Powered by a NASCAR V8 Engine

Toyota FJ Bruiser Concept SEMA 2023
The Toyota FJ Bruiser concept made its public debut at SEMA 2023 this week, paying tribute to the Land Cruiser’s roots. It might look like a typical rock crawler, but under the hood, you’ll find a TRD, 5.9L V8 NASCAR Cup Car engine making 725 horsepower, mated to a 3-speed automatic race-built Rancho Drivetrain Engineering transmission.

FJ Bruiser had to remain solid axle vehicle to be “unstoppable”. Featuring front / rear Currie differentials and an Advanced Adapter Atlas transfer case that provides four 2WD speeds / four 4WD speeds, allowing the vehicle to crawl at 12 mph revving to 7,000 rpm in the lowest gear and then hit speeds of up to 165 mph in its highest gear. Step inside, and you’re greeted by MOMO Daytona EVO seats reskinned in paint scheme-colored plaid as a homage to the FJ’s original plaid bench seat as well as a vintage 1968 Jackie Stewart championship steering wheel. If you’re at SEMA now, make sure to stop by the Toyota booth (Central Hall, Booth 22200) before the show ends Friday.

Every year we are fortunate enough to get to build a SEMA special project vehicle. With the return of the Land Cruiser to the U.S. Market, it only made sense to build a rock crawler, so this is our take on a 1966 Toyota FJ45 Pickup Truck. At first it was referred to loosely as ‘The Unstoppable FJ,’ but by the time it was done, it was a beastly vehicle, and so the team started referring to it as the ‘FJ Bruiser.’”, said Marty Schwerter, Toyota Motorsports garage team manager.

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner Truck Concept Hits SEMA with Twin-Turbocharged V6

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner Truck Concept Hits SEMA with Twin-Turbocharged V6

Aside from the AE86 Hydrogen (H2), the Toyota Tacoma X-Runner truck concept also debuted at SEMA 2023. Power comes from a Tundra-sourced, twin-turbocharged i-FORCE 3.4L V6 engine generating 421 horsepower with 479 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with a 4.30:1 final drive as well as an electronic locking differential.

Toyota engineers had to widen the overall track by over 3-inches to handle the chassis and engine modifications, which includes custom-valved, 2.5-inch Bilstein aluminum bodied shocks with remote reservoirs at each corner. Even though there are no plans to produce the Tacoma X-Runner, the engine modification package will be offered next year beginning with new Tundra models as part of a TRD Performance Package upgrade.

There is a Tacoma for everyone, with eight grades in the 2024 Tacoma lineup. This new X-Runner concept really shows that TRD is about performance, about going fast… It shows the range of the platform and what we could do if we took the Tacoma beyond off-road and everyday capabilities, slammed it, and gave it a little street cred,” said Mike Tripp, group vice president, Toyota Marketing.
