RadioShack TRS-80 Color Computer 1980
These days, we have game-console inspired computers like the AYA Neo Retro Mini PC AM01, but back in 1980, there was RadioShack’s TRS-80 Color Computer. Priced at a reasonable $399 USD ($1,486 in 2023), this personal computer was designed to compete with the Atari 400 and the Commodore VIC-20.

Nicknamed CoCo, the TRS-80 Color Computer was later marketed as the Tandy Color Computer. The original version features a large silver-gray case with a calculator-like chiclet keyboard and could be configured with memory sizes of 4K (26-3001), 16K (26-3002), or 32K (26-3003). The only available connection for the TRS-80 Color Computer to a display device is a TV set. It’s based on a single printed-circuit board design with all semiconductor components manufactured by Motorola including the MC6809E CPU, MC6847 VDG, MC6883 SAM, and RAM.
